Temples in India

The Six Swaminarayan Temple (by Lord Shree Swaminarayan)

Shreeji Maharaj had by now set the sampradya rolling, many saints and devotees were now staunch followers of Lord Swaminarayan. These devotees and saints had associated themselves with Lord Supreme himself. In order to expand and diversify the humble teachings of Lord Swaminarayan six temples were built during his life.

These six temples are great places of pilgrimage and generate a large amount of pride within them. As the idols which are present in these temples have been installed by the divine hands of Lord Swaminarayan himself, the temples are landmark's of the Swaminarayan sampradya. They have today become centres of excellence and also renowned all over the world.

Shreeji Maharaj had layed the foundation for his sampradya to expand. Even after his departure to Akshardham the construction process carried on. From this work followed many more temples at various places throughout Gujarat and India at large. Places where he had visited or had stayed. Small and large villages became privileged enough to have a tower marking the site of a Swaminarayan temple.
