On the auspicious day of Ekadashi devotees perform incessant Jap and devotional activities. Some people take fruits and milk during fasting and some are not even drink water on the day of Ekadashi. Devotees should not eat rice on this day. The drops of sweat which fell from Brahma’s forehead took the form of demon. Those demon asked Brahma to provide them an abode to live. Brahma said, “you live in the rice particles eaten by men on the day of Ekadashi and then become worms in their stomachs.”  So, rice should not be eaten on the day of Ekadashi. Those who worship Lord Vishnu and his forms, the fasting of Ekadaashi is very important.
